It was a windy afternoon on August 24th, 2016 when the junior varsity football team had their first home game against Boulder Creek High School Jaguars. The Trojans lost 0-61 to the Jaguars.
In the first quarter, the Jaguars scored 28 points on the Trojans. There were white flags thrown on play for both teams. There was a penalty for holding on the Trojans and once they got in position again there was a penalty for holding on the Jaguars. Later in the first quarter, Jaguar Patrick Soreno made a touchdown on the Trojans. Trojan Christian Madrid passed the ball to Bryce Edwards a couple of times but they were incomplete. Despite this, jv still went out there, had each others backs, and gave it their all.
During the game there were small time outs and the announcer had a good playlist of songs. You could hear some of the people on the bleachers sing along or even do small dance moves.
In the second and third quarter it was more intense when jv player Christian Madrid made complete passes to Bryce Edwards and Andrew Castillo. Bryce Edwards was ball carrier but was stopped by a Jaguar and they made a touchdown.
When one of our players got hurt, both Trojans and Jaguars showed respect and kneeled until our player got off the field. One of our coach’s son was sweet and helped out player to the bench. Later on, the same player went back into the game and didn’t let down his team.
Trojan jv player #33 Andrew Castillo stopped Jaguar team carrier but that wasn’t enough for fourth quarter. They didn’t go home with a win but we know our junior varsity team will work harder and improve. The jv Trojans will make PVHS proud and bring home a win in their next game.
